May be debt ceiling debate in the US,keeping investor/ trader interest in these precious metals.Policy makers in the US have time till Aug 02nd to decide on the debt ceiling.Hence, it is advisable not to entertain ideas of shorting these precious metals in the next two weeks.

here is Nifty option chain of 15th Jul 11(Fri).Notice that along with 5700 call,5600 call also seen OI Build up.5500 Put still has higher OI.

On 14th Jul(Thurs), Nifty managed to get past 5600 and touched Intra day 5650.But,late sell off since 3.00 p.m brought down Nifty to below 5600 level. On the 15th Jul(Fri), Nifty managed to climb above 5600 and moved up to 5630 where it got resisted and fallen below 5600.Judging from swiftness with which Nifty came down below 5600 level on these two occasions,there was a determined selling at 5650,5630 levels.

Hence 5500 seems to be support and 5630-5650 area is resistance area.Another Nine sessions left in this series. It is any one's guess whether Nifty will oscillate within the 5500-5630,5650 range in these Nine sessions. Options writers at 5500 put strike and 5600 calls are advised to be cautious and on guard.

Here is Nifty Option Chain at the end of 13th Jul 11(Wed).Data is taken from nseindia.com and i have reformatted a bit. Strike prices are given in the middle in blue colour.

Data to the Left side of Strike prices pertains to CALL Options. Data to the Right side of Strike prices pertains to PUT Options.LTP Stands for Last Traded Price.

Notice the Open Interest(OI) volume build up at 5500 Put. It is more than one crore(10 million). As of now,5500 should be good support.Also 5600 Put has seen an addition of million shares.On the Call Side 5700 , 5800 Calls have highest OI Build up.

Hence it looks like Nifty would trade between 5600 to 5700 in the coming sessions.

Keep a watch on the data though. Inflation data is due on 14th Jul(Thurs). TCS results are due on 14th Jul(Thurs).Infy results were out on 12th (Tue) and they are market neutral.

Also keep an ear on Euro Zone news.

U.S.Markets are Open. Gold has made a new life time high of $1580. If it closes above $1575,it will be new closing record.

Gold has touched $1575,it's life time high , again today.Gold has managed to do this third time during the year 2011. Will it close above $1575 and rush towards $1600?

It might. Renewed Euro zone concerns may prompt safe haven buying/investment.Talk of Q3 is in the Air.If that happens , lot of liquidity to chase commodities, including the precious metal.Also, Q3 means less dollar strength and more inflation.valid reasons for money to get into gold.
